About Social Science Asia Journal

The Social Science Asia journal is an English language published quarterly by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). The first volume will be published in 2014 to serve the interests of research-oriented and professional section of the society. The journal will be the center for gathering research work done in the Asian countries.

The journal will be available in the electronic version for free on the website at http://www.socialscienceasia.nrct.go.th. Authors can submit manuscripts to Social Science Asia Journal through the web site. All correspondences including notification of the Editor's decision and request for revision will be done electronically; hard-copy will not be accepted.

Objectives:

The principal purpose of the journal is to publish scholarly work in the social sciences defined in the classical sense that is in the social sciences, the humanities, education, economics, political sciences, law and other areas in Social Sciences. The research that is published may take a theoretical or speculative model. Contributions are welcome from all fields which have relevant and insightful comments to make about the Social Sciences Asia Journal.

Aims and Scope:

The Social Science Asia (SSA) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published four issues a year, in January, April, July, and October by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).  The journal publishes articles of both research based and critical debate which promote original knowledge production engaging intellectual exchanges among regional, sub regional and global concerns and scholarship.  The focus covers subfields and cross-cutting themes relating to politics, economy, society, culture, ethnicity, gender, violence, language, development, sustainability, governance and etc.

The journal is published in online version, which is free access and download.

The Social Science Asia publishes original research papers, short communications, book reviews, and letters. The journal’s subject matter includes contributions from long-established fields (including psychology, economics, human geography, sociology, education, political science, anthropology, social work, population studies, and history); as well as more recent disciplinary and inter-disciplinary fields such as public policy, development studies, conflict resolution, gender studies, international relations, security studies, human rights, cultural and ethnic studies, ethics, criminology, health, sustainability, communications, and media studies.

The journal also includes a Research Note section which is devoted to supporting scholarly research that is in progress. The journal has a well-established book review section which reflects the academic and intellectual diversity within Asia. While The Social Science Asia is the publication of a national organization, it attracts submissions from a wide range of countries.
